Supporting Young Adults with Cancer
As part of Barclays Northampton Wellbeing Team, we wanted to support a colleague in memory of his son Zac Forskitt, who in September 2015, at the age of 20, was diagnosed with two rare forms of cancer.
Friends in Northampton and Nottingham, where Zac was studying at university, and patrons of Old Northamptonians RFC, pulled together to create #BacZac. Zac’s university friends did so much to help him through many difficult times – and they sold thousands of bright orange beanies in support.
In March 2016, Zac lost his brave and courageous battle.
Due to the experiences Zac’s family had been through, it was soon decided that a legacy would be created in Zac’s honour, helping other young adults undergoing similar trials and tribulations.
In November 2017, BacZac his Legacy was awarded charity status – and supports young adults with cancer by providing grants, high street gift cards and food vouchers. The charity’s long term goal is to provide a respite home for patients and bereaved families.
The current pandemic has been devastating, and the majority of fundraising activities planned for BacZac have been cancelled.
Now we’d really like your support in helping to raise as much money as we can. We’re running a Christmas raffle which has some really amazing prizes that have been generously donated.
