Help us to raise more money to support homeless people with survival packs in 2021

I’m Lou Ballard, founder of Winter Streets Project. We’re fundraising to get 1000 survival packs out to people living on the streets in 2021 with items like thermal clothing and toiletries.

Winter Streets Project is a small not for profit charity. I set up Winter Streets Project in 2016 to help London’s homeless population, quickly expanding our survival pack distribution to Watford, Brighton and Hove, Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, Southampton, Winchester, Oxford, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bath and Bristol.

In 2019, Winter Streets Project distributed 850 survival packs to towns and cities around the UK. Our goal was 1000 survival packs to be distributed in 2020. But with the pandemic, our fundraising events had to be cancelled. We were at the brink of closure at a time when homelessness was increasing.

Over 3000 people were sleeping on the streets in London alone between July and September 2020, and nearly 2000 of those people were new to the streets.

Thankfully, we were lucky enough to be the recipient of another Collection Pot fundraiser by an organisation called Rimini Street Limited. They raised an amazing £3062.03 for us which will pay for 1000 pairs of thermal socks and gloves, 1000 first aid kits and 500 kit bags.

We’re now fundraising to complete our 2021 kit bags with the final 500 kit bags and to try and reach even more places in the UK to distribute our survival packs.

Winter Streets Project is completely non-profit, every penny we make goes back into funding our survival packs, and helping more homeless people. We’re so grateful for any support you can give.

This is a great project and it is fantastic to be able to help support for those sleeping on the streets, especially in this cold winter.
