Summary:
A solo, self supported trip across 225miles+ of the northern highlands on my unicycle, in aid of both mental health and Parkinson's' Disease. – raising funds and awareness for Mind UK and Parkinson's UK.
Why? –
As many of you may know from my fundraiser last year, my Brother Neil was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a few years back, in just his mid forties and so, I am continuing to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's UK.
Mind and their services have been extremely helpful for several people close to me and, although mental health is more of a talked about topic than it used to be, I still feel that much more support and wider awareness is needed. A huge amount of people in todays world struggle in many ways, and often reaching out for help, or trying to reach in to help someone is not always easy.
My mission;
This July, Starting near Fort William and the foothills of Ben Nevis, I will ride towards Inverness, following the infamous Loch Ness for it's entire length. upon reaching Inverness, my route takes me slightly inland and up to Lairg, continuing north to the far Northern coast, and then riding east along the coast to finish at Thurso/Scrabster Bay.
All of this over 12 days maximum, in the 2nd half of July.
– Just me, my 29'' Unicycle, my Big Agnes tent and only essential supplies.
